What, if any, set of Moral Codes, or Virtues, or Philosophy guides you in your everyday life?

These do not have to be religious, just anything that guides you down the 'right' path.... For example; maybe something that one of your parents told you that has always stuck with you, some type of very good advice that can be applicable in multiple situations.

the basic innate ethics that should exist in all of us i.e. don't kill, steal etc.
