Detectives


Question by Pie-Pie: Detectives?

Who tells them what to do?

Head of Police Chief?

Cuz in my story i have a detective that i guess works in a police place? Right?

And who should come in to tell them to go to investigate this crime scene?

Do they drive their own car? a police car? Do hey have partners?

In most agencies, detectives are supervised by a sergeant. Above that, there are captains, or lieutenants, depending on what rank system the agency uses, but the sergeant is the one who gives them cases to work and governs their activity. They often have partners, but not always, and the cars they drive are typically unmarked cars of various makes and models, ie. not always a Ford Crown Victoria as TV would make you think.
